Norwegian Institute for Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO), Norway

NIBIO is a national R&D institute specializing in the fields of agriculture and food production, environmental protection and natural resource management. NIBIO aims to be a regionally, nationally and internationally competitive knowledge producer and service provider. The Norwegian partner consists of participants from NIBIO and Norwegian Centre for Organic Agriculture (NORSØK). NORSØK is a national centre of expertise for the development of organic agriculture through interdisciplinary research and knowledge dissemination.

The relevant expertise includes 1) Expertize on soil-borne GHG emissions, 2) Nutrient sources in organic cropping systems with low supply of animal manure; green manure strategies (whole year and sub cropping), organic waste from society (compost and biogas residue) and 3) N-dynamics, and modelling of this for identification of possible leaching losses and fertilization planning suited for organic farming.
