Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) takes responsibility for the development of learning and expertise in areas concerning biological resources and biological production, i.e. agriculture, forestry, food industry, environmental questions, veterinary medicine, and biotechnology. At the Department of Crop Production Ecology (VPE) research is carried out in the field of agricultural cropping systems, short rotation forestry, weed biology and plant ecology. At the Department of Soil and Environment (MoM) the functions of the soil system and how it interacts with different forms of land use are investigated.
