UMR System is a joint research unit gathering researchers and professors from Cirad, Inra and Montpellier SupAgro. The joint research unit is in charge of the analysis of the relationships between spatial structure, dynamics of processes and provision of ecosystem services in multi-species cropping systems. In addition, it is responsible for design and assessment of ecologically intensive cropping systems at plot, farm and territory scales.

Concerning the project FertilCrop the participants come from Inra and Montpellier SupAgro. They carry out research on the services and disservices of cover cropping in vineyards, on the technical and biophysical (soil, crops) changes during the transition from conventional to organic farming, and on the design of low input cropping systems in viticulture.
